The Cardinals made their intent to rebuild very clear by making 21 moves since the hiring of new head coach Bruce Arians on January 18th. The goal is clearly to yet younger, smarter, and more efficient in the new Arians system.

You’ll notice here that the signings complement the releases fairly evenly - further evidence that the goal here was to flip bodies, not necessarily fill new needs. The end result is an extremely balanced financial depth chart both offensively & defensively.

Looking to the Draft
The Cardinals currently hold 7 picks in the 2013 draft, including the #7 overall selection. They’ve yet to address any offensive line or WR upgrades this offseason, so it’s safe to say they’ll do so through the draft. The Cardinals estimated 2013 rookie pool is $6.4 million.

With a large amount of space cleared early in free agency, and minimum deal signings to follow, the Cardinals have added pieces without running themselves out of cap space.
