Player Team Age Thoughts
Tony Romo DAL 36 Expected to be released when the clock hits 4PM, Romo will be in immediate demand from the likes of Houston, Denver, and possibly a few sleeper teams. While he holds a near $16M market value based on recent stats, age + injuries should limit his cash availability, especially in terms of guarantees.
Jay Cutler CHI 33 With Mike Glennon about to be under contract in Chicago on a multi-year, near $15M annual deal, the Cutler-Era appears over. It's not a certainty that Cutler finds a roster spot that intrigues him enough to pass on retiring.
Colin Kaepernick SF 29 Kaepernick's market has been quiet, if not non-existent to date. He appears slotted for a backup role in 2017.

Running Backs
Player Team AGE Thoughts
Adrian Peterson MIN 31 Peterson's market is thin, as teams continuing to build around younger running back committees to keep cost and risk low. He carries a market value of $4.5M into free agency, and should find work from the likes of Oakland, Seattle, the Giants or even back with Minnesota.
Jamaal Charles KC 30 Charles' recent string of injuries will be a major red flag for teams. He might be looking at a 1 year deal close to the minimum.
LeGarrette Blount NE 30 He's been extremely productive and durable for the Patriots over the past two seasons, and should latch on for a little more than his $1M 2016 payout. Green Bay and Oakland are potential fits.

Wide Receivers
Player Team AGE Thoughts
Alshon Jeffery CHI 27 He remains the top WR on the market, and while his calcalated value suggests a $12M deal, he'll be commanding closer to $14M. Teams like Chicago and Jacksonville could be looking to overpay for his services, while the Bears remain top contenders to retain him.
DeSean Jackson WAS 30 He's been rumored both to the Patriots and the Buccaneers, and both seem to be strong fits. Jackson carries a near $8M market value to free agency, but will be looking for $10M based on demand. The Bucs are expected to make this happen.
Terrelle Pryor CLE 27 Versatility plus an excellent contract year in Cleveland has Pryor's value at an all-time high. He's worth just under $9M based on our math, and will likely be pressing for $10M on the open market. It's hard to imagine Cleveland letting him walk.

Martellus Bennett NE 30 Bennett carries a $6M market value into free agency, but has been rumored to be commanding $9M. The Patriots have already passed, and it's unlikely he'll find a team to come up that high based on his age and injury past. The Bills and Giants have both been linked.
Jared Cook GB 29 After multiple down years Cook was rebirthed in Green Bay last season. He'll be targeting Greg Olsen's $7.5M number as he hits the market, and might be hard pressed to leave a Packers offense that seems a strong fit.
Ryan Griffin HOU 27 Griffin reeled in 50 catches in 2016, but has struggled to find the endzone in his first 4 seasons. A change of scenery and expanded role will certainly help that cause.

Player Team Pos. AGE Thoughts
Russell Okung DEN OT 29 A tough 2016 forced Denver to opt-out of his 4 year extension, but the two sides appear headed toward a reunion. That is unless Okung's market takes a sudden rise. He's probably living more in the $7-8M market now.
Matt Kalil MIN OT 27 He's been somewhat inconsistent, keeping his market value at a modest $7M. He'll have offers and will be seeking long-term stability.
T.J. Lang GB OG 29 The near 30-year old carries Top 5 market value to the open market, and should eclipse recently signed Chiefs guard Duvernay-Tardiff's $8.4M mark.
Kevin Zeitler CIN OG 27 Probably the most coveted lineman on the market, Zeitler should have no trouble eclipsing the $10M mark based on age, production, and demand.

Brandon Williams BAL DT 28 A monster in the run game, Williams will be coveted by multiple teams to fill this role - notably the 49ers and Giants. He'll carry a near $13M value into the market.
Dontari Poe KC DT 26 The odd man out in Kansas City will have no trouble finding work, and has been strongly linked to a Colts team in desperate need of defensive help. He carries a $12M price tag with him.
Jabaal Sheard NE DE 27 The Patriots appear to be out on Sheard, making him a very nice option for many teams across the league. Like the two players above, the Colts and 49ers are strong candidates for the versatile DE, who should command just under $10M.

Linebackers
Player Team Pos. Age Thoughts
Dont'a Hightower NE ILB 26 The Patriots appear to have maxed out on spending toward their linebacker core, making Hightower one of the most coveted defensive players available. He'll be seeking the $12M+ former teammate Jamie Collins was given by the Browns - and could very well end up next to him again in Cleveland.
Zach Brown BUF ILB 27 Brown played out 2016 at just over $1M for the Bills, and was nothing short of exceptional. A versatile backer who racks up tackles and stops, and is primed to captain a defense. He may have priced himself out of Buffalo's abilities, as he seeks Top 10 ILB money.
Lawrence Timmons PIT OLB 30 The long-time Steeler appears poised to move on as he enters his 30s, and should command Top 10 money from the likes of Miami, San Francisco, or Atlanta.

A.J. Bouye HOU CB 25 Bouye picked a great year to break out, and his projectiled himself to the top of the free agent list in terms of secondary players. He shouldn't command elite money ($14M) that Stephon Gilmore and Logan Ryan will be seeking, but a $12M per year deal seems right.
Tony Jefferson ARI S 25 Buried in a secondary filled with Patrick Peterson and Tyrann Matheiu, it's Jefferson's time to shine now. His calculated value based on stats alone was a near $6M deal, but his role + demand should increase that tenfold. He should be near the $8M mark when it's all said and done.
Logan Ryan NE CB 26 Somewhat underrated in terms of free agency talk, Ryan will enter the open market with a $14M+ valuation. He'll be coveted by the Bears, Texans, & Eagles to name a few.
