The Baltimore Orioles have endured a long decade of misery, nearly falling out of relevancy. Buck Showalter has proven he can offer a jolt of energy and hope to this storied franchise though, and veteran offseason power pickups may fuel that fire as well. They won’t contend to win this division, but they’ll compete, and break some hearts while doing so.

The Atlanta Braves didn’t dip their hand into many pots this offseason, but many experts agree there was no need to. Atlanta’s rotation and everyday roster consists of a beautiful mix of consistent veterans, talented youth, and hard-nosed everyday workhorses. They’ve drawn all the right cards. If a few no-name arms workout in the bullpen this year, the Braves will be at or near the top of this division.
