Shawne Merriman in Trouble Again?

UPDATE: Multiple sources are now confirming this story.

There are loose reports coming out of the Western New York area that border patrol has recently stopped Buffalo Bills Linebacker Shawne Merriman when entering back into the United States from Canada, and confiscated unauthorized medication from the vehicle he was crossing in. There are no specific allegations that the confiscated items were PEDs, or illegal narcotics, but the red flags are waving strongly in the Peace Bridge wind in the city of Buffalo. Merriman was suspended 4 games in 2006 for violating the NFL’s steroid policy, but has shown no hint of wrong-doing since – so any truth to these reports would be shocking.

That being said, the former Pro-Bowler is coming off down years in San Diego, and a wash of a first season in Buffalo where he limped off the field on the first day of reporting, and never stepped foot back on it.

He’s in need of a rebound year at age 27, with baggage in his past – so here’s hoping these surrounding allegations are circumstance, and not valid.
