Lavonte David, OLB, TB

5 years $43.75M, $8.75M AAV, $26M guaranteed

Age: 25

Expires: 2016

One of the best kept secrets in the league the past three seasons, Buccaneers OLB Lavonte David is set to enter a contract year in 2015. We’ll assess his current value, projecting what an upcoming extension might look like for the 25 year old.

Eli Manning, QB, NYG

4 years $68M, $17M AAV, $32M guaranteed

Age: 34

Expires: 2016

Eli’s slip in production of the past two seasons (notably 2013) hurt his calculated value. His overall resume logically makes him worth $21-$22M per year, similar to the contract Ben Roethlisberger recently signed.

Russell Okung, OT, SEA

5 years $34.95M, $6.9M AAV, $11.2M guaranteed

Age: 27

Expires: 2016

Okung valued out miserably when stacked up against the likes of Tyron Smith (DAL), Joe Thomas (CLE), Ryan Clady (DEN), and D’Brickashaw Ferguson (NYJ). Our nearly $7M per year forecast makes him the 15th highest average paid left tackle in the league.

Muhammad Wilkerson, DE, NYJ

5 years $62.3M, $12.46M AAV, $36.75M guaranteed

Age: 25

Expires: 2016

Wilkerson has been a Top 5 DE over the past few seasons. But cap troubles loom for the Jets next season, making a deal of this magnitude a tough sell. Our forecast for the 25-year-old compared his statistical production over the past few seasons to the likes of J.J. Watt, Mario Williams, Cameron Jordan, and Cameron Heyward.

Luke Kuechly, ILB, CAR

6 years $69 million, $11.5M AAV, $27.5M guaranteed

Age: 24

Expires: 2017

Our forecast for the 24-year-old captain of the Panthers’ defense compared his statistical production over the past few seasons to the likes of Navarro Bowman, Lawrence Timmons, Brian Cushing, and Sean Lee.

A.J. Green, WR, CIN

5 years $66 million, $13.2M AAV, $35M guaranteed

Age: 26

Expires: 2016

Our look at the current value of Bengals’ WR A.J. Green stacks his production up against the newly signed Dez Bryant, Demaryius Thomas, Jeremy Maclin, and Mike Wallace.

T.Y. Hilton, WR, IND

5 years $60M, $12M AAV, $31.8M guaranteed

Age: 25

Expires: 2016

Hilton doesn’t quite have the statistical production to stack up against the top tier of WR contracts recently signed, but he’s extremely close. He has a chance to increase his value considerably should the Colts not sign him until after the 2015 season.

Julio Jones, WR, ATL

5 years $67.5M, $13.5M AAV, $42.5M guaranteed

Age: 27

Expires: 2016

Like Green, we’ve stacked Julio Jones up against Dez Bryant, Mike Wallace, Demaryius Thomas, and Jeremy Maclin for this forecast. He exceeded their combined production, but couldn’t mathematically crack the $14M per year mark.

USATSI_8170905_160074578_lowres

Nick Foles, QB, STL

5 years $63.215M, $12.64M AAV, $27.2M guaranteed

Age: 26

Expires: 2016

Foles can quickly grab the reigns in St. Louis with a strong camp/preseason, and the Rams likely won’t wait long after that to lock him in for the foreseeable future. At 26 years old and with big game potential, a deal of $12.6M per year could end up being a steal.

USATSI_8381290_160074578_lowres

Russell Wilson, QB, SEA

5 years $109.76M, $21.95M AAV, $61.46M guaranteed

Age: 26

Expires: 2016

The saga that is Wilson’s contract has been discussed since early 2014, and the two sides don’t appear to be much closer a year and a half later. While he may not be the prototypical franchise quarterback, he’s efficient, reliable, high-character, and quite obviously – a winner. Our calculations place Wilson just behind Rodgers in terms of annual average, but the name of the game here should be guaranteed cash, and upfront cash.

USATSI_8119147_160074578_lowres

Bobby Wagner, ILB, SEA

4 years $38.7M, $9.675M AAV, $16.4M guaranteed

Age: 25

Expires: 2016

It’s been reported that Wagner and his camp are seeking a deal worth $10M per year. We’ve valued him just below that figure, but the Seahawks may have bigger fish to reel in first (Russell Wilson, Russell Okung, Marshawn Lynch?)

USATSI_8355036_160074578_lowres

Marcell Dareus, DT, BUF

5 years $77.6M, $15.52M AAV, $36.4M guaranteed

Age: 25

Expires: 2016

Dareus has had some off-the-field issues, the recent of which will cost him the first game of the upcoming 2015 season. But on the field he’s been an elite stopgap in an excellent Bills defense. He’ll likely command closer to $17M per season if he’s allowed to play out the final year of his contract, and produces at the level he has been over the past 3 seasons.

USATSI_8272306_160074578_lowres

Philip Rivers, QB, SD

5 years $98.8M, $19.76M AAV, $46.4M guaranteed

Age: 33

Expires: 2016

It’s hard to believe a QB with as much talent as Philip Rivers would be allowed to hit the open market, but crazier things have happened. Should he do so, his stock and pricetag would raise considerably, with multiple teams bidding. For now we’ll assume he’ll simply be extended as a Charger, with nearly $20M per year as the current going rate.

USATSI_7476229_160074578_lowres

Andrew Luck, QB, IND

5 years $113.2M, $22.64M AAV, $53.2M guaranteed

Age: 25

Expires: 2017

While it’s not likely a deal for Luck gets done until after the 2015 season, it’s interesting to note that he’s already valuing out as the highest average paid player in football right now. A strong upcoming season will make his calculated value in a year “must-see”.
