2018 NFL Franchise Tag Values

The NFL has released the official numbers for 2018 NFL franchise/transition tags by position, along with restricted free agent tender values. A few reminders:

  • Franchise tags are fully guaranteed as soon as they are signed (not offered).
  • 5th-year options for 2015 1st Round picks will be worth the transition tag for that position.
  • Players who received a Performance-Based Escalator will see their 2018 salary increased to $1.907M (already updated on Spotrac).
  • Players who were franchise tagged last year will be subject to a 120% raise from their 2017 tag. Meaning Le’Veon Bell will be subject to a $14.544M tag with Pittsburgh if it’s offered tomorrow as expected. Teams will have until July, 15th to hammer out a long-term contract with any player offered a franchise tag.
