2013 NFL All-Value Team

January 20th, 2014 by Michael Ginnitti

Our final list of the 2013 season takes a look at the best value player at each position for both the AFC and NFC conferences. Our selections were based on cash compensation in 2013 (not cap figures), and positional rankings from Pro Football Focus. We’ve also included the player’s free agent season to assess who may be inline for new deal in the near future.

AFC All-Value Team

USA TodayAndrew Luck earned $1.3 million in cash with the Colts this season.

Andrew Luck and the Colts came out of the gates quickly this season, but were stalled midway through when key injuries set in. But Luck was consistently great throughout the year, throwing for 3,800 yards and rushing for 570 more.

While plenty of younger running backs made impacts on small dollars in 2013, Jamaal Charles’ season was too strong to leave him off this list. He ties for the highest compensation on our All-Value team.

3 Broncos made our AFC team this year, all entering the final year of their contracts in 2014.

The total cash cost for our AFC All-Value team is $20,194,131.

USA TodayRichard Sherman’s $555k salary was 109th among 2013 cornerbacks.

Three of our All-Value NFC players are set to become unrestricted free agents this offseason.

Jimmy Graham (TE) Evan Mathis (LG), and Jason Kelce (C) were the top-ranked players at their position in 2013.

Three Seahawks find their way onto the list in 2013. Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas will enter the final year of their contract in 2014 barring extensions (likely).

Defensive tackle Jason Hatcher is a strong candidate for the Cowboys 2014 franchise tag, projected to be $9.1M.

The total cash cost for our NFC All-Value team is $21,962,534.
